I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Sciences with a minor in chemistry. After graduating, I elected to work at three separate laboratories in Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. The research ranged from proteasome organelle research under Dr. Maupin to Lupus research under Dr. Morel, and finally research on glutamate active transfer proteins in mice models under Dr. Novak. After 4 years of research I turned my profession toward education and began teaching at Carol City Senior High. I now reside at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School teaching A.P. Environmental Science, Biology and Chemistry where the Jesuit formation has honed my passion for teaching and understanding the whole person.
